The highlights vid is here from what was a powder-filled week of competition and shenanigans in the Mecca of Freeride.
Conditions tested competitors all week as multiple weather holds and delays demanded patience, but hard-fought attempts to drink it blue were eventually rewarded with blue skies and waist deep fresh snow.
Competition was restricted to lower angled-faces due to the high avalanche danger, but this meant that competitors were able to let loose in the playful terrain and throw the kind of tricks you very rarely see in Big Mountain competition.
Young Kiwi charger Hank Bilous is a case in point: Check out his rowdy 360 to air to 720 line in the vid! It’s video game stuff and an indicator of what the future holds for freeride.
We are super proud to be partnered with such a prestigious qualifying event series, and wish all the competitors luck in the season of competition ahead.
Keep regramming and sharing your shots of your Mons neckwarmer with the hashtag #monssnow to be in the running to win $200 worth of kit per week throughout the rest of the season.
