THIS AINT NO ORDINARY FIBRE

What is Merino?

Merino are sheep. Not just any sheep, they are incredibly resilient and can thrive in harsh climates, which is why they can claim to be the oldest farmed breed of sheep. In stark contrast to their nature they have the softest fleece that has so many amazing properties it is known as the wonder wool.

ANTI ODOUR

The crimped structure of merino fibres means that it is very difficult for bacteria to attach themselves to the wool. As a result, merino garments stay fresher and stink free for longer.

LIGHTWEIGHT WARMTH

Merino wool has a very high warmth to weight ratio, so you stay warm without having to load up on bulky layers. Merino also retains its ability to insulate even when it’s wet so no matter how bad the conditions you’ll always be warm.

TEMPERATURE REGULATION

Merino acts as a natural air conditioning system because it has the highest moisture absorption capacity of any fabric, so it will keep you warm and dry when it cold, but by transporting moisture and heat away from the body it will also keep you cool when it’s hot.

BREATHABLE

Its superior ability to absorb and store moisture within its fibres also means that as your body temperature rises the moisture stored in the wool will evaporate away from your body. The warmer you get the more efficient merino becomes.

SOFT

The fine gauge of merino fibres means it feels super soft next to your skin and won’t itch like traditional coarse wools. This level of comfort makes merino perfect for base layers and underwear.

100% RENEWABLE

Merino wool is 100% biodegradable and sustainable. The sheep are shorn every year in summer to ensure the animals comfort, health and mobility. The by-product of the shear is the fleece, which we turn into our garments!
