The 3rd stop of the Freeride World Tour saw something pretty special go down. Wanaka boy and Mons Royale rider Sam Smoothy laid down what’s been called by some, “the greatest comp line ever”.
The man himself has modestly brushed off the accolades telling Powder magazine “I think that’s fairly ridiculous really… I don’t think it’s even close to some of the best runs the world has seen, so it’s flattering, but it’s fairly wide of the mark I think.”
What do you reckon? Take another look. We can’t help but think that the snow and vegetation make the upper section feel a whole lot like our home mountain, Treble Cone.
