ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

ZQ Merino is sourced only from accredited farmers who meet the highest farm standards. ZQ growers pride themselves on adhering to the best social and environmental practices. All ZQ farmers are assessed and audited by trainers and qualified third party auditors, ensuring rigorous standards are met.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

ZQ Merino farmers are bound by their passion and dedication to careful stewardship of the land, health and safety of those living and working on it.

QUALITY FIBRE

Each fleece is hand-selected by expert wool classers to ensure only the finest fibres are spun into yarn. The ZQ process ensures that wool quality is consistent in tests for whiteness, strength, low variation and contamination.

TRACEABLE

ZQ merino is traceable directly back to the farm from which it came. Farmers are connected to the brands that buy their wool and they are proud to wear and use the products.

WHY WE BLEND WITH OTHER MATERIALS

When we design, we always start with the activity in mind. What level of performance is required? The fact is, wool has limitations.

Within our range, we blend wool with other materials to strengthen its high-performance properties. Where possible, we blend with natural fibres – like Tencel.

In some cases, we blend merino with a synthetic to strengthen the wool and increase the lifespan of the product. For example, when we say ‘core-spun’, this means that the merino is strengthened with a nylon core which makes up 10% of the textile content. That said, our aim is to always use as much natural fibre as possible. And in cases where we incorporate synthetics, we ensure that the fibre is recyclable.
